Your first visit to our office will be easy, informative, and enjoyable! At this visit, Dr. Jim will evaluate your need for orthodontics based on information we gather from a panoramic x-ray and a comprehensive oral examination of your teeth and jaw. Based on this information, Dr. Jim and the Treatment Coordinator will explain your treatment options and answer your questions. We understand that pursuing orthodontic treatment is a big decision, so we will do everything we can to make sure you are confident in moving forward. We will also take a series of photographs that highlight tooth position and facial structure and help illustrate the findings of the exam. At the end of your visit, we will give you a copy of these photos and a thorough breakdown of the results of Dr. Jim’s exam and treatment recommendations for your review.
The panoramic x-ray shows the position of all of the teeth that are present and reveals any missing or extracted teeth. If you have a panoramic x-ray from another dental office, we can use a copy of that image for the first exam. If you do not have this x-ray, we will be happy take one at the time of your appointment at no charge.
