Dr. James Urbaniak, DDS, MS
Anyone that knows Dr. Jim knows that his mission is to make it a GREAT DAY for every child that visits our office. He is known to entertain his patients by singing silly songs that put the kids at ease and keep everyone feeling relaxed. A graduate of the prestigious Marquette University, Dr. Urbaniak developed a passion for orthodontics while working at The Pueblo Neighborhood Health Center as a dentist. While he was Clinical Professor of Orthodontics at CU Health Sciences Center and Director of Orthodontics at The Children’s Hospital, he created a pediatric healthcare center with a group of pediatricians. His vision to make pediatric dental and orthodontic care available under one roof led him to establish Southwest Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics in 1989. Dr. Urbaniak and his wife, Terry, reside in Colorado with their two sons, Neal and Nick. Outside of the office, Dr. Urbaniak is an avid fisherman who enjoys ice fishing, fly fishing and a day on the lake. He experiments with watercolors and is a frequent spectator at his boys’ sporting events.
Dr. John Landgren
As a father of six children, Dr. John Landgren brings a wealth of practical experience to children’s dentistry. Yet, it is his magic tricks that the kids remember most! Dr. Landgren, aka "The Tooth Wizard," is an amateur magician and loves to educate children about dental care. His motto, "We’re BIG on PREVENTION!" reminds kids to develop and maintain healthy brushing and flossing routines at home. After completing his pediatric dentistry residence at The Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin, he served with the Indian Health Service in Arizona and Alaska. In 1999, he joined Southwest Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics where he has successfully studied and researched dental materials to learn which work best for kids. He is dedicated to the comfort and well-being of his patients, and he always goes the extra mile to assure that they are getting the best care available. Away from the office, Dr. Landgren also knows it is important to take care of himself, and he stays active by golfing, playing tennis and traveling.
Dr. Scott Pankratz
Dr. Pankratz was a CPA for a Fortune 500 company before he made the leap into the field of dentistry. Desiring a career that was harmonious with his compassion for others, he completed his pediatric dental residency at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. He and his wife, Kim, along with their three sons, Grant, Spencer and Blake, relocated to Colorado where Dr. Pankratz joined the team at Southwest Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics. He is known to put his young patients at ease by entertaining them with funny stories. When he isn’t busy providing kids with beautiful, healthy smiles, he enjoys riding bicycles with his family and rooting on his Husker football team.
